As my travels took me across Spain to the city of Palma, in Mallorca, I continued to keep an eye out for studios to talk to. With some help from Google, the most locale-centric name of Palma Music Studios popped up in my browser.
Whilst digging around Discogs for names of people who had worked on my favorite albums, I came across Adam Hawkins as one responsible for engineering and mixing projects like Gary Clark Jr’s “Blak and Blu” and Regina Spektor’s “Far”.
Though I had originally reached out to Barcelona-based producer and studio owner, Marc Molas Carol, to talk about his studio, El Tostadero, it turned out that the venue had been closed down, and his music affairs were being relocated into a new building that is still under construction.

In the world of beats and crate-digging, the LA-based Beatnick Dee is a well-established figure who’s output ranges from sample packs to studio albums. As both the acclaimed crate-digger behind the “International One Shots” series of sample packs, and the producer behind music by both mainstream and underground rappers, from The Game and Biggie to October London.
Despite having spoken to EA DICE’s Andreas Almström not too long ago, I found that there was more to learn about the inside of DICE’s audio team. So I reached out to Ben Minto, the company’s Sound Director, asking for an interview, and he obliged.

Los Angeles-based brothers Daniel and Andrew Aged formed their music duo in 2010, and released their acclaimed “no world” debut album in 2013. Prior to that, the brothers had already built up resumes of touring and session work in the music world, playing alongside the likes of Robin Thicke and Raphael Saadiq.
